I was digging through some newspaper clippings that my mother gave me. I decided to share them with you. each of them has its own story to go with it.
The first article was about this song I wrote called Bring Back Change Now, which was a lot of fun to do. It was about the Change Now youth centre in Guelph closing its doors unexpectedly and unfairly in 2007. I noticed a group of people protesting in the centre of the city and was inspired! I should really do more stuff like this. It’s time to get out there and write for the people again!
This next article was written after the release of Burn to the Ground in 2009 to help publicize a show at Maxwell’s Music House in Waterloo. Maxwell’s was young back then, and so was I. I remember a woman twenty years my senior asking me to sign her CD after that show because she saw this photo in the paper and thought I was cute. I kind of liked it;) I’m hoping to get another review in Nightlife when my next CD comes out. I wonder if my looks will still attract attention. Maybe I will hold a blowtorch in the next photo.
The Lymphomaniacs were an amazing thing to be a part of. I am still an honorary member since leaving town a year and a half ago. The Lymphomaniacs are still a band. Everyone in the band has been diagnosed with cancer at sometime. It’s a requirement to be a member. It’s a really cool story and it was a really good time playing with these guys. Bangin’ Bobby, Hurricane and Jack, miss you guys! Hope I can make a cameo soon.
